Service Update – 15th June 2020

We were thrilled to be able to reopen the unit and restart fertility treatment on the 18th May 2020 after gaining approval from our licensing authority, the HFEA.

The ongoing Covid-19 pandemic means that we have had to reduce the number of treatments we can undertake at any one time. This is because treatment centres are working differently, in particular maintaining social distancing regulations, to keep patients and staff safe. Therefore, the overall capacity to provide licenced treatments such as IVF/ICSI and frozen transfers is reduced. As such we are unable to guarantee a time frame for commencement of treatment.

We will also prioritise appointments for patients who had their consultations and treatment cancelled before the unit closed.

Patient and staff safety is our main priority. We have new working practices in place to keep patients and staff safe during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Including: –

  • Social distancing measures
  • Limits on the number of patients at the unit, at any one time
  • Patients being seen by appointment only (no drop-in clinics) and individually, except under exceptional circumstances
  • Virtual or tele consultations for first and follow up appointments
  • Staff wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for some treatments

We have produced a Covid-19 patient information leaflet for our services which will be sent to you prior to treatment. The leaflet includes the current professional body and government guidance to ensure safe and effective treatment.

We will be posting regularly on our Facebook page and website to keep people up to date with any developments. You can also contact the team by calling us on 01257 256251 (if you leave a message we will get back to you as soon as we can) or via email

All of us at Fertility Fusion would like to thank you for your patience during this time.
