Even Miracles Take a Little Time

By Lucy Highfield

In July 2020, at 36 weeks, we welcomed Poppy into the world.

It seems such a simple sentence and a dream come true, but one I wouldn’t be able to explain to you today if it wasn’t for the support I received from Fertility Fusion.

A miscarriage in 2016 started my journey and in 2018 I was referred to Fertility Fusion by my GP. Following an initial consultation with Mr Harris and several assessments, I was informed of a low ovarian reserve and Mr Harris recommended ICSI as a method of treatment.

It was on my third cycle in December 2019 that I found out I was pregnant. Overjoyed doesn’t even begin to describe how we felt.

I’ve wanted to share my story for a while now, but it’s surprising how much time occupying a near one-year-old can take up, especially during a pandemic.

It’s safe to say, I wouldn’t be enjoying these early stages of motherhood with Poppy if it wasn’t for Mr Harris, Erica Burgan and their team at Fertility Fusion.

The part they played in our miracle is just as big as any. The team were informative and empathetic, but most importantly they provided me with realistic expectations and support throughout each treatment cycle.

Mr Harris leads an outstanding team. It’s highly organised, knowledgeable, professional and compassionate – from the assessment, through the ongoing care and to the treatment itself.
If I had a fertility wish list at the start of my journey, they would tick every box.
